Linear metre pricing for materials such as moulding and edging can be used in conjunction with Area pricing for panel material.

 

Materials Included

The materials used are set in the Catalog/Drawing Materials-Advanced > Bulkhead page. In this tutorial:-

• the Cornice and the Capping are set to use 'Moulding' - which uses Linear metre pricing.
• the Bulkhead is set 'As Panel' material - which uses Area (per sqm) pricing.

What is included in pricing can be selected on either the :-

• Materials-Advanced > General Options page
  • OR
• Format Capping after placement on your drawing

Tutorial: Material Linear Pricing

When we know what materials are used we need to set the prices, which reside within the Materials Manager.

 

Step 1 Materials Manager

First access Manager from either the Pricing > Material/Hardware page or Materials-Advanced > Manager page and click on the Manage button.

Step 2 Linear Meter Pricing

Now we need to select the relevant material and price accordingly.

Remember the Capping and Cornice use Moulding, which is priced by linear meter. Select the:-

• Details page - using the drop lists select material used in this example:-
  • Type : Moulding
  • Group: Plaster Profiles Capping
  • Name: White Large New 75x110 Capping

• Pricing page - enter Linear price and Markup (%) if applicable
  • Linear price is $0.45/m
  • We will leave Extra and Markup (%) as 0

Remember to Save changes and click OK  -  Click to Expand

• Save changes and click Apply.

 

Step 3 Area Pricing of Panel Material

Now we will price the panel material used for the Bulkhead.

•  Details page - using the drop lists select the material used in this example:-
  • Type :  Panel
  • Group : !Sample
  • Name : !Sample 18mm Melamine Light Blue

• Pricing page enter Area price and Markup (%) if applicable
  • Area Price is $26.52/sqm
  • We will leave Extra and Markup (%) as 0

Remember to Save changes and click OK  -  Click to Expand

• Save changes and click OK.

 

Reporting

You can run the Quantities report to see the effect of pricing on Capping.

Result:

Cornice/Crown: Moulding material calculated using Linear Meter pricing i.e.  4.7m x $0.45 = $2.12

Bulkhead: Panel material calculated using Area pricing i.e.  (4.7m x 0.172m) = 0.81sqm x $26.52= $21.44

Capping: Moulding material calculated using Linear Meter pricing i.e. 4.7m x $0.45 = $2.12

Reported price is therefore $2.12 + $21.44 + $2.12 = $25.68
